Let’s keep all the POI – Points of Interest – under this one thread. It makes it easier to find topics by the title. .
In the future, how would you like these posted. These are the first posts I have made. Thanks.
Can you wait until the “spring thaw”? Just kidding… We’ll have you out of there before the next storm. If not, how hot do you like your catnip tea?
blow-on-it hot But gotta provide a straw, cos my paws are sorta frozen!
I don’t suppose we have to hold the straw for you too?
You can click on the Title (above). It will bounce you to the end of the thread. Click Reply (on any of the posts). Add your images or URLs to the Reply Box that opens. And at the bottom, click the blue Reply button.
If the thread starts to get over 100, or 6 months (whichever comes first), I make a new thread with a new span of months. But these threads can hold hundreds, so don’t worry if it is getting long.
By the way, I’m cc or cat, one of the Forum Mods. @AKE235 is also a mod here. Just yell @ for one of us if you have questions or problems.
Thanks for the help!
I think it would freeze in position.
A white little building in the poly?
And some white things above in the land depression.
Check out the oval bathtub!

Here’s a giant almost star-shaped rookery with the “march of the penguins” as they head from the rookery to the left below the ridge line toward the poly and beyond. This screenshot is zoomed out to -4, but you’ll have to zoom +1 to see the thousands of penguins in this march. I’d hate to have to count each and every one! I think I’d rather count tires in a tire dump.
I found a nice spiral design below some wavy lines. Cool! (Note that the poly is off-map (below it) and the above shapes are in the crack in the ice to the left of the lower two rock outcrops.)
I think they are penguins in that poly Jim. I posted this a about a week ago; if got left to the edge of the map from the poly and a little above the ice berg there you can see some more and you can follow growds of them across the map to the heading straight for the rookery
Not so many coming in from the right of the rookery just the odd 2 or 3 along the way.
That I think is the Bharati Station for India 69° 24.41’ S, 76° 11.72’ E
Looks like they’ve built a new station building (since the satellite image taken) made out of shipping containers:-
Check out the 9th post down:- nuke.waponline.it/NewsInformation/Archive2011/January2011/tabid/276/Default.aspx
It does help if you post the url address or even just the question number (below) found in the top left corner of the tomnod screen
Thanks I will do that in future posts!
I believe I did say they were penguins. This is from my post:
“Here’s a giant almost star-shaped rookery with the “march of the penguins” as they head from the rookery to the left below the ridge line toward the poly and beyond.” What’s in that tea you’re drinking? Not catnip tea is it?
Yeh, sorry Jim; you know the half-eye glasses you were discussing with Doug4 in your tech. issue post…yeh, well…can I blame it on them…'cos I think I only read half your post
What causes these “roads”…Question 245685…zoom out from original space and there are three “road looking” lines…Thanks!
It’s caused by the ships in and out of the Davis Station…like the one in the youtube clip I posted above of the Bharati station.
Somebody lost their heart to the seals
T_Boechier and @EmeraldEyes : These are roads. My first thought was they looked like they were plowed (or snowblowed). I looked around a little and followed a few smaller roads above the more noticeable three. Low and behold there’s a twin-engine turbo-prop that looks like it is just off the ground (judging by its shadow).
